At Harvest Home Furniture, we are committed to delivering furniture of exceptional quality and durability. This policy outlines your rights and our obligations in accordance with applicable South African consumer law.


 

1. Your Right to Return (30-Day Satisfaction Period)

In addition to your statutory rights, Harvest Home Africa offers a 30-day return period from the date of delivery.

To qualify for a return under this policy:

The item must be returned in its original condition, with all components, accessories, and packaging intact.
The item must not have been used beyond reasonable inspection, and must have been used only in accordance with its intended purpose and care instructions.
Proof of purchase is required.

Returns that do not meet these criteria may be declined or subject to a reasonable handling or restoration fee.


 

2. Statutory Rights Under the Consumer Protection Act

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).

You are entitled to receive goods that are:

Of good quality,
In good working order,
Free of defects, and
Durable for a reasonable period, having regard to the nature of the goods.

If a product fails to meet these standards within 6 months of delivery, you may request:

A repair,
A replacement, or
A full refund,

at your election, unless the failure is due to misuse or damage after delivery.


 

3. Defective or Damaged Goods

If your furniture is delivered damaged, incomplete, or defective:

Notify us within 7 days of delivery with photographic evidence.
We will assess and, where applicable:
o Arrange for replacement of defective components, or
o Repair or replace the item at no cost to you.

Where a defect falls within CPA provisions, your statutory remedies will apply.


 

4. Inspection & Fair Use

Furniture must be:

Assembled and installed strictly in accordance with provided instructions.
Used under normal residential conditions (unless specified otherwise).

This policy does not cover damage arising from:

Improper assembly or modification,
Commercial or abnormal use,
Exposure to environmental conditions inconsistent with product specifications,
General wear and tear.

All returned items are subject to inspection prior to approval of any refund or exchange.


 

5. Refund Process

Once a return is approved and received:

Refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days.
Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment.

Delivery or logistics fees are non-refundable unless:

The return is due to a defect, damage, or error on our part, or
Required by applicable law.

 

6. Exchanges

Exchanges are facilitated for defective or damaged items. For all other exchanges:

The original item must be returned in accordance with this policy.
A new order must be placed for the replacement item.

 

7. Collection & Return Logistics

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return arises from a defect or incorrect delivery.
Harvest Home Africa may, at its discretion, arrange collection and deduct reasonable transport costs where applicable.

We recommend the use of insured, trackable delivery for all returns.


 

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Harvest Home Africa shall not be liable for:

Indirect or consequential losses,
Damage resulting from misuse, improper care, or unauthorised alterations.

This clause does not limit any rights you may have under the CPA.
